Mac Haik Realty Ltd. has broken ground on an 18-acre, $27 million mixed-use commercial development at the Grand Parkway and Kingsland in west Houston.
The project includes sites for several restaurants, a bank, retail space and professional space.
Houston-based Mac Haik Realty will plan, develop, own, lease and manage the project.A 14,000-square-foot retail center will be completed and open this spring.

Mac Haik Realty has also begun work on a separate 14.84-acre shopping center which will include an Academy retail store, 40,000 square feet of "in-line" retail space, retail pads, restaurant and bank sites.
That $13 million project will be located on Highway 77 (Navarro Street) across from the Sam's and Wal-Mart stores, with occupancy scheduled for Aug. 16.
Mac Haik Realty will develop, lease, manage, and own the first phase of the project, which could eventually span 36 acres and contain as much as 326,000 square feet of space, according to Haik.
Meanwhile, Mac Haik Automotive Group has begun facility renovations and expansion on its dealerships in Houston, Victoria, Austin, Temple and Georgetown. The $13.1 million development plan includes a new Hyundai facility which will break ground this month in Victoria, according to Terry Shields, director of car operations for Mac Haik Automotive.
Mac Haik Automotive Group owns eight dealerships in Texas and is ranked No. 44 out of the top 100 multiple point mega dealership groups in the United States and No. 5 in the state.
